Antique Art Deco porcelain half-doll boudoir lampshade dating to the 1920s–1930s, with a porcelain figure about 9 cm high and an overall height of 27 cm, featuring a mustard/gold satin shade with black netting and a good condition showing age-related wear.
Description from the seller
Beautiful antique porcelain half doll / boudoir lampshade, dating approximately to the 1920s–1930s.
The elegant porcelain lady has finely painted facial features, rosy cheeks and an elaborate grey/lavender period hairstyle. She is modelled in a particularly graceful pose, with one hand raised to her hair and the other across her chest.
The porcelain figure measures approximately 9 cm, with the complete lampshade measuring approximately 27 cm in height.
The original-style period shade is constructed in a rich mustard/gold satin fabric covered with delicate dark brown/black net or tulle, finished with decorative stitched detailing around the lower section. The combination of the porcelain figure and surviving textile work gives the piece wonderful period character.
Condition:
The porcelain appears to be in very good condition with no obvious chips or cracks visible. The antique textile and netting show age-related wear, deterioration and some fraying, particularly around the lower edge, as shown clearly in the photographs. This has been left untouched in order to preserve the character and integrity of the piece.
A charming and increasingly difficult-to-find example of an early 20th-century porcelain half-doll lampshade, ideal for a collector of German half dolls, boudoir accessories or Art Deco decorative pieces.
Measurements:
Porcelain half doll: approx. 9 cm
Overall height: approx. 27 cm
Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
slight damage to the material on the shade due to age
