Anton Stankowski, Kamerad Motorrad, first edition published in 1939, German softcover edition on photography with 48 pages, published by NSU Neckarsulm (Eigenverlag), original language, in acceptable condition.
Description from the seller
Anton Stankowski, (design and photos), Arthur Westrup (texts and compilation), Kamerad Motorrad. A Magazine of NSU Work, Neckarsulm: NSU (1939), softcover, 48 pages, 29.5 x 21 cm. The extremely rare issue was published as a “one-off publication” and is, despite occasional, perhaps unavoidable references to National Socialism, a design classic and ranks among the main works of Anton Stankowski. The design is more in the style of Soviet models and does not follow the propaganda aesthetics typical in Germany at the time. Excellent photogravure printing in black and red by Belser (Stuttgart). Reference see: Bart Sorgedrager (ed.), Factory Photobooks, Rotterdam: nai010 Publishers, 2023, pp. 64/65
Condition: signs of wear, but no loose pages, cover rubbed, text block with a crease in the lower third that is not traceable to its creation, which, however, hardly diminishes the enjoyment of this rare representative of the Company-Books.
