Abdoulaye Derme - Sculpture, sculpture stylisée de cheval - 20 cm - Bronze

This sculpture represents a horse in a contemporary, highly stylized and semi-abstract style. The artist favors clean lines and expressive volumes rather than a faithful anatomical representation.

The horse is depicted in a head-down posture, suggesting an animal at rest or grazing. Its body is deliberately reduced to essentials: two long, slender legs support a massive chest, while the back is suggested by a towering sculpted mane.

The mane is the dominant element of the work. Very developed, it forms a broad curved arc toward the ground, animated by deep grooves that give it rhythm and texture. A dark metallic rod accompanies this curve and contributes to the stability of the sculpture while blending with the drawing of the tail or the overall movement.
