Sculpture, Pair of Italian Silvered Bronze Fighting Roosters, Early 20th Century - 21 cm - Silver

Fine Pair of Silvered Bonze Fighting Roosters

Italian Animalier Sculpture, 20th Century

A striking pair of sculptural fighting roosters, captured in dynamic poses with outstretched wings, powerful stances and magnificent fan-shaped tails.

The sculptures display richly ornamented surfaces, with intricately chased plumage, finely modelled feathers and elaborate raised motifs that emphasise the movement and expressive character of each bird. The silvered finish, enhanced by darker tones within the recessed details, creates a subtle interplay of light and shadow, highlighting the depth and craftsmanship of the decoration.

Executed using cast-metal construction, assembly and chasing techniques, these figures reflect a strong appreciation for animalier sculpture and characterful decorative objects. Their dynamic composition and elaborate ornamentation evoke the European decorative arts tradition of the early 20th century, combining expressive naturalism with a distinctive ornamental sensibility.

Presented as a matching pair, the sculptures form an eye-catching decorative ensemble, appealing to collectors of animalier art, silvered metalwork and antique decorative objects.
