A Devonian trilobite specimen, Crotalocephalina gibbus, in natural condition and conservatively treated, from Al Nif, Morocco, measuring 78 mm by 32 mm by 21 mm and weighing 211 g.
Description from the seller
Splendidly prepared trilobite with the scientific name: Crotalocephalina gibbus. This trilobite originates from the Devonian near the town of Al Nif in southern Morocco. During my penultimate trip to Morocco I visited this location as well as the workshop of the finder and preparer. It took a lot of effort and more than 15 hours to prepare this trilobite. As can be seen in the photograph, all the spines have been preserved and are completely original. The dimensions of the trilobite are 78 mm x 32 mm. The trilobite has been treated with a preservative. Brought back from my penultimate trip to Morocco in April 2025. The matrix measures 98 x 54 mm. This is a splendid display piece. The photos speak for themselves.
The underside of the matrix is screwed on during shipping to the lid of a plastic case. During transport the spines can thus not be damaged.
