Fluorescent calcite crystals with red phosphorescence on matrix, from Zanacchi Quarry in Molassana, Val Bisagno, Genoa, Liguria, Italy.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals, we offer a splendid Calcite crystal on matrix from the Zanacchi Quarry, Molassana, Val Bisagno, Genoa, Liguria.
Furthermore, it is characterized by a crystal with sharp faces and finely striped, well separated from the light-colored matrix, with red fluorescence and phosphorescence, which increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance.
The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact.
Calcite is the most common calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in nature and is distinguished by the enormous variety of crystal forms it can take, from rhombohedral to prismatic–scalenate as in this specimen. The fluorescence and phosphorescence that some calcites show under UV rays are due to traces of activating elements, such as manganese, incorporated into the crystal lattice during growth. The Molassana area, in Val Bisagno near Genoa, is known to Ligurian collectors for small outcrops and minor quarries within the local metamorphic formations.
This is an ideal specimen for mineralogical collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the context of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except in rare cases always indicated in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best highlight colors and details; however, slight tonal variations may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable and selected express couriers, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 business days in Europe), trackable and insured shipping, and professional and safe packaging, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also occur the day after payment depending on the destination.
It is possible to accumulate multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, also from auctions with different deadlines, simply by contacting us to arrange the consolidation. For important pieces, direct home delivery or delivery at major European fairs by appointment is also available.
