Description from the seller
Terracotta bead necklace – Ancient Egypt
Elegant necklace composed of numerous terracotta beads, from ancient Egyptian tradition, currently strung to form a long strand of approximately 1 meter in length.
The beads, small in size — approximately 4 mm — display a distinctive discoidal and cylindrical shape, with slight irregularities typical of manual production. They preserve an attractive range of natural tones, from ochres and sands to browns and deeper earthy hues, creating a particularly harmonious overall appearance.
The matte surface, color variations, and small signs of wear give the piece a pronounced archaeological presence. The considerable length of the necklace allows the rhythmic sequence of the beads to be appreciated and imparts a notable decorative effect, whether displayed in a cabinet or shown on a stand.
Cultural provenance: Ancient Egypt
Material: Terracotta
Total length: approximately 100 cm
Bead diameter: approximately 4 mm
Condition: consistent with its age, with wear, deposits, and tonal variations typical of the material.
A piece of intimate and evocative character, representative of the tradition of personal adornment in ancient Egypt, especially appealing for a collection of Mediterranean and Eastern archaeology.
