Description from the seller

Refined Octagonal Art Deco Pocket Tray – E.P.N.S. A1 Sheffield – England, 1930/40

Precious and elegant period pocket tray in full Art Deco style, dating from the 1930s (circa 1930). The object stands out for a strict and compact geometric octagonal flared design, supported by a stepped base that elongates its proportions.
The true iconic modernist detail is represented by the two geometric and square handles positioned at the sides, which emphasize the rational lines typical of the interwar period. Thanks to its compact dimensions of 15 cm, it is a perfect and sophisticated decorative element to place on an entrance console, a desk, or a piece of furniture.
• The bottom of the object clearly bears the stamp "E.P.N.S. A1 SHEFFIELD". This mark certifies the excellent English craftsmanship of the famous Sheffield metallurgical school and guarantees the A1 quality, the highest British classification for the thickness and resistance of the plating in pure silver on a base of alpacca, with handles in precious Bachelorette
