Description from the seller

A set of 3 antique "Römer" wine glasses (Rhineland style / Regency era)—hand-crafted "peacock blue" (turquoise) glass featuring applied elements ("raspberry-like" prunts) and a rough pontil mark (c. 1820–1880).
An exceptional and rare set of three traditional "Römer" wine glasses, crafted from striking glass in the highly prized "peacock blue" (turquoise) shade.
Embodying the classic design characteristic of the German Rhineland school and the British Regency era, these glasses showcase the superb craftsmanship of historical glassmakers.

Features of each glass:
• Bowl: A spacious, wide bowl—ideal for white wines—with a graceful transition to the stem.
• Stem: A hollow cylindrical stem, skillfully decorated with applied "raspberry-like" prunts (known as *Nuppen*), which historically provided a comfortable and secure grip.
• Base: A wide, distinctive conical foot featuring a raised spiral pattern, ensuring excellent stability and creating a beautiful play of light.
Authenticity and craftsmanship:
A distinctive feature of this set is the pronounced, rough pontil mark (the point where the blowpipe was detached) on the underside of each glass's spiral base. This serves as clear evidence that the pieces were entirely mouth-blown using traditional artisanal methods, confirming their authentic antique origin—unlike modern factory-made replicas.

Color and rarity: While traditional *Römer* glasses are most commonly found in "forest glass" shades (green or olive), this captivating turquoise variant ("peacock blue") is significantly rarer and highly prized by collectors of antique glass.
