Estetica fluorite with barite blades from the Santa Lucia Mine, Fluminimaggiore, Sardinia, Italy; crystal on matrix, grey cubic fluorite with white‑creamy and yellowish barite lamellae, weight 493 g, dimensions 115 × 86 × 40 mm.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals we present an aesthetic group of Fluorite crystals with Barite from the Santa Lucia Mine, Fluminimaggiore, Sardinia.
Moreover, it is characterized by sharp gray cubic Fluorite crystals alternating with elegant blades of white-creamy to yellowish Barite arranged fan-like, with a pleasant color contrast enriched by pink tones and the piece’s fluorescence under a UV lamp, elements that increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance.
The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact.
Fluorite (CaF2) owes its name to the Latin fluere, "to flow", for its low melting point which made it useful as a flux in metallurgy; the gray color of these crystals is linked to lattice defects and color centers induced by trace elements or natural radiogenic phenomena. Barite, barium sulfate, often crystallizes in lamellar aggregates like those visible here, formed together with fluorite in a low-temperature hydrothermal environment. The Fluminimaggiore mining district, in southern Sardinia, is historically known for the production of fluorite and lead-zinc minerals associated with the Iglesiente hydrothermal mineralizations.
This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the realm of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with rare exceptions always indicated in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight tonal variations may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable express couriers and carefully selected, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days in Europe), tracked and insured shipping and professional, safe packaging, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also occur the day after payment depending on the destination.
It is possible to accumulate multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, even from auctions with different deadlines, simply contact us to organize the consolidation. For important pieces, direct home delivery by appointment or at major European fairs is also available.
