Description from the seller

Magnificent violet charoite bracelet, 15 beads of 14mm. 301 cts, weight 60.20 g. Provenance: Far East Russia, Sakha Republic, Siberia, near the Chara River, Baikal Chara. For wrist up to 19 cm.

Found only in Russia, charoite is considered a rare gemstone. It derives its name from the Chara River, flowing through the Aldan Massif. The stone deposits are extremely rare, the most recognized site being in Siberia, not far from Lake Baikal. It remains rare due to the limitation of its extraction, especially since the only area where it is located is in eastern Siberia, in the Sakha Republic. Access to it remains particularly difficult and greatly limits its exploitation, hence its rarity. Any other provenance is not charoite. In the jewelry sector, it is regarded as a semi-precious stone, most often cut as a cabochon or carved to create various items.
