Description from the seller
A particularly antique Asian jewelry and dressing cabinet – probably Korea – circa 1880–1920.
A characterful and decorative wooden jewelry cabinet, executed in the traditional style of the Korean gyeongdae, a refined dressing cabinet used for storing jewelry, hair accessories and personal valuables.
The cabinet features an ingenious fold-out mirror section and two practical drawers. The decorative metal fittings, including the characteristic butterfly motifs, give the piece its distinctive appearance.
The warm, deep reddish-brown wood color and the natural patina emphasize its historic character. The visible wood joints and traditional construction contribute to the authentic look.
