Brass and copper Art Nouveau hotel reception bell by J. Peter Paris, dated 1850–1900, with an internal clockwork mechanism; 13 cm high, 9 cm wide and 9 cm deep, weighing 580 g, originating from Paris, France, in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Stunning hotel reception bell dating from the late 19th century.
A model of great elegance; its circular base is adorned with geometric friezes of antique inspiration in a Greek motif, with an internal clockwork mechanism patented at the time (the J.P. system called electric or similar).
The mechanism is wound using the winding key or butterfly and a simple press on the push button in ivory or ivoirite (ivorine) triggers a rapid ring (like an alarm clock or telephone).
A superb, homogeneous patina across the entire object.
A pearled brass collar creates a very nice visual contrast.
The piece has remained perfectly original.
For decorative collection or use.
Fast, careful shipping with tracking and insurance.
