Tannoy Mercury Mk II bookshelf speakers, produced between 1987 and 1989, in good physical condition and tested and working, a pair weighing about 7.1 kg each (14 kg total) with a front-mounted bass port in a 2-way bass-reflex design.
Description from the seller
The Tannoy Mercury MkII (produced between 1987 and 1989) is a classic and highly regarded British bookshelf speaker. It is the direct, improved successor to the original Mercury MkI. The speaker is known for its musical, warm and detailed sound reproduction.
(Note: this classic 'MkII' from the 80s should not be confused with the later, more compact Tannoy Mercury M2 from the late 1990s).
Main Specifications
Design: 2-way bass reflex (with the bass port on the front)
Frequency range: 52 Hz – 23,000 Hz (±3 dB)
Sensitivity: 90 dB (anechoic) to 93 dB (living room)
Impedance: 8 Ohm
Recommended amplifier power: 10 to 120 Watts per channel
Crossover frequency: 3 kHz
Dimensions: 498 x 249 x 232 mm (H x W x D)
Weight: 7.1 kg each
Drivers & Construction
Woofer (Bass/Mids): A powerful 200 mm (8 inch) driver (type 2088G) with a rubber roller edge. This ensures a full and tight bass reproduction that sounds larger than the case suggests.
Tweeter (High Tones): A 28mm (1.1 inch) polyamide soft-dome tweeter (type 0248G) on an asymmetric mounting plate for better spread and a more detailed high.
Case: Finished in walnut or black ash wood look. Because the bass port is on the front, you can place these speakers relatively close to a back wall without the bass becoming undefined or too booming.
Signs of use as seen on pictures please check for better insights of the condition of the speakers.
