A large collection of mixed fossil shark teeth (over 200 items) from Morocco, dating to the Paleogene Eocene (56–33.9 million years ago), cleaned and in natural condition, with authenticity original and the scientific name Western Sahara.
Description from the seller
Large collection of more than 200 fossil shark teeth including two Carcharocles sokolovi teeth (ancestor of the megalodon). These have largely been collected by me during a four-week expedition to the Western Sahara in late 2012. This search location is more than 5000 km drive from the Netherlands, not far from the border with Mauritania, about 20 km south of the town of El Argoub. The shark teeth originate from the Eocene (Priabonian) and are between 38 and 33.9 million years old. Many teeth are damaged but there are also many sharp-pointed ones.
The species of shark teeth included in the lot are:
Alopias alamabensis
Galeocerdo sp.
Hemipristus curvatus
Abdounia sp
Physogaleus sp.
Carcharias twiggensis
Negaprion frequens
Physogaleus sp
Isurus preacursor
Galeocerdo eaglesomi
Carcharocles sokolowi (these are the two largest teeth. They are in natural condition but with damage. Dimensions 8.5 cm and 7.4 cm)
Carefully packed and sent by registered mail and insured.
