Description from the seller
Pair of 3-light table candelabra - Napoleonic III style - Marble and Bronze/Brass - 19th century
Elegant and charming pair of three-light table candles (three bobèches for candles) from the Napoleonic III era (19th century), perfectly reflecting the eclectic and refined taste of the French Second Empire.
• Structure and branches: In gilded brass and patinated bronze, finely chased with entwined motifs of scrolls and foliage.
• Central shaft: Surmounted by its original decorative removable finial in the shape of a laurel crown.
• Base: A complex quadrangular base elegantly pairing black marble (Noir de Mazy) with a striking breccia marble in shades of gray, white and russet. The whole rests on four small bronze scroll feet in Rococo/Louis XV style.
Excellent overall condition. The marble is superb and shows no chips or major cracks on its sharp edges, which is particularly rare for pieces of this period. The metal patina is original and very well preserved. The two removable upper snuffers are present.
• Height: approximately 38 cm
A magnificent pair of decorative art objects, ideal for adorning a fireplace, a sideboard, or to complete a 19th-century bronze collection.
Careful shipping.
