Description from the seller

Silver apostle spoon from Groningen, made circa 1630 by Lambert Muntinck. The almost round bowl merges directly into the cast handle. The lower half, with the motif of a fruit-picking bird, passes via a profiled intermediate piece into the round, tapering upper half. The handle is crowned by a figure of Christ on a circular pedestal. A comparable apostle spoon by Muntinck is depicted on page 204 of ‘Groninger Keur’ (J.P. van Rijen). The spoon has a small, almost invisible repair to the bowl.

As a silver mark the spoon bears the master mark of Lambert Muntinck (LM as a monogram). In addition, a nearly unreadable year letter (possibly 2/A = 1630/31, see photo 8) and a punch mark.
The length of the spoons is 17 cm, the width of the bowl 5.5 cm and the weight 38.8 grams.
