AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A beautiful engraved glass Art Nouveau decorative vase designed by the famous French glass designer Emile Gallé. Very likely produced in 1904, the year of Gallé's death, given the star next to the signature (see detail photos).
Delicate landscape decor with a view of a lake in various shades of green against a solid background. The body of the vase is divided into five scenes separated by trees. The canopy extends down to below the neck of the vase. The five scenes each feature a continuing view of the lake from a different perspective. The perspective is beautifully rendered by the glass being etched deeper or shallower. Because the outside of the vase is dark green and the inside light green against the white background.
Beautiful baluster-shaped vase of substantial size (and weight!) standing on a round base.
Good condition.
