SPACE AGE LAMP, attributed to La Murrina code 022
Bright Icon of the Italian Space Age, stunning and rare Italian design desk lamp dating back to the early 70s, a perfect manifesto of the Space Age aesthetics that revolutionized 20th-century lighting design. This lamp is not just a light source, but a true sculpture of light, characterized by a large disc diffuser that evokes the image of a planet or a psychedelic eclipse in full retro-futurist style.
The main body is a marvel of Murano craftsmanship, attributed to the historic La Murrina manufactory or to the renowned contemporary productions linked to master Lino Tagliapietra. The disc is made of precious murrine glass and finely acid-satinized. The workmanship presents a hypnotic effect of concentric circles with a green/turquoise core wrapped by a warm peach-colored corona, which softly dissolves into the peripheral latte white. When lit, the lamp casts a soft, atmospheric, and highly dramatic light.
The electrical system is perfectly functional.
