Figurine - gypsum and wood

Plaster Mary statue on a wooden pedestal.
What makes it very interesting is that it was created by a very famous sculptor from Belgium.
Emile Jespers (1862-1918) from Antwerp.
Professor of sculpture at the Antwerp Academy.
He made statues for facades in Antwerp (Meir, Leur Street).
Father of the famous Oscar Jespers.
Around 1900-1905 he received many commissions from churches for sacred statues.
This Immaculata with a serpent was one of these commissions.
Comes from his family, purchased in the 1990s.
