Vintage hand-blown Czech art glass vase designed by Petr Hora for Škrdlovice, model 8316/30, 30 cm high with an 8.5 cm diameter and 24 cm depth, in near mint condition, showcasing the Sommerso technique and a dark blue core with amber glow.
Description from the seller
A stunning, heavy, thick-walled design vase of hand-blown glass art is offered. This iconic object was designed in the 1980s by the internationally acclaimed Czech glass master Petr Hora for the well-known glass factory Škrdlovice (later Beranek Glass Studio).
The vase is made with the refined Sommerso technique. The inner core has a deep, dark blue color, surrounded by a warm amber/brown glow in a thick, clear glass mass. Centrally in the interglass lies a beautiful organic, abstract "explosion" or floral pattern in contrasting white and lilac/pink lines. This gives the vase amazing depth and dynamism, especially when light shines through it.
A beautiful and timeless collectible for lovers of Mid-Century, Bohemian and modern glass art design.
