Vintage Cousances cast-iron terrine/cocotte – Made in France

Beautiful and special vintage cast-iron terrine/cocotte from Cousances, finished in grey and cream.

The pan is fully enamelled and features a heavy cast-iron lid with an integrated handle and a steam vent. The interior is finished in light cream enamel and, especially given its age, is in very nice condition.

On the underside stands the original marking:

Cousances is a historic French producer of high-quality enameled cast iron and became part of Le Creuset later. Old Cousances pans are thus popular with collectors of vintage French cast iron.

This low oval model is seen considerably less often than the well-known classic Cousances braising pans. The large ribbed handles and the grey/cream color scheme give it a beautiful vintage look.
