Description from the seller

Sartori - Capodimonte - “Le Quattro Stagioni” - Large sculptural group of 4 putti - Polychromed porcelain - Italy.
Magnificent Italian Capodimonte sculpture group signed SARTORI, titled “Le Quattro Stagioni” (The Four Seasons), made in finely shaped and hand-painted porcelain.
An especially decorative piece with notable presence, formed by four infant figures or putti, allegorically representing the four seasons through fruits, flowers and different elements of nature.
Le Quattro Stagioni constitutes a composition much more elaborate than the usual Capodimonte individual figures. The joint presence of four characters, vegetation, fruits, trunks, rockwork and gold ornamentation gives the whole considerable visual richness.
The Sartori signature, the title preserved on the porcelain itself, the Capodimonte mark and its wooden base complete a piece of Italian great decorative and collectible appeal.
An excellent opportunity for collectors of Italian porcelain, Capodimonte and XXth century decorative sculpture.
The composition stands out for its richness of detail. The four figures have individualized faces, delicate expressions, hair carefully modeled and excellent definition of hands and feet. They are arranged at different heights around trunks, rocks and abundant vegetation, creating a three-dimensional scene especially attractive from any angle.
The numerous vegetal details, fruits, leaves and small modeled elements show the elaborate workmanship required to produce this type of Italian porcelain. The decoration combines natural, soft tones with elegant gold relief accents on the front.
The piece is clearly identified by different marks visible in the photographs:
Original cartouche with the signature “Sartori – Made in Italy”.
Cartouche with the original title “Le Quattro Stagioni”.
Capodimonte mark with a crowned N on the front.
