Rare Carving/Game Set Antique in 950 Silver – Risler & Carré (Paris)

Description:
Refined and imposing antique carving set for meat and game, made by the prestigious Parisian jewelry house Risler & Carré (active in Paris between the late 19th and early 20th century).

• Large carving knife with a shaped steel blade (length 30 cm)
• Serving fork with 4 tines featuring a dramatic guard/resting mechanism sculpted in relief. (Length 26 cm)

Characteristics and hallmarks:
• Handles: In solid silver worked in neoclassical / Louis XVI style, finely relief-decorated with festoons, floral garlands, relief motifs, and a central cartouche.
• Hallmarks: On the silver rims the French hallmark Minerva Head 1st Title (silver 950/1000) and the diamond-shaped mark of the master silversmith Risler & Carré are clearly visible.
• Condition: Good overall conservation condition.

The silver retains a splendid antique patina with crisp chasing; the steel parts show light and normal signs of age consistent with the period and the piece’s authenticity.
