Description from the seller
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Recent mechanical maintenance carried out during 2026 (timing kit, water pump, alternator, starter motor)
• QSP sports steering wheel installed and competition exhaust tube, preserving all original replaced parts
• Aesthetic combination representative of the 80s with brown bodywork and pop-up headlights
• Transaxle configuration with 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and manual transmission
HISTORY/DESCRIPTION:
The Porsche 944 was introduced in the early 1980s as the direct evolution of the 924, notable for its balanced weight distribution thanks to the front-engine and rear transaxle layout. This 1983 unit belongs to the first generation of the model, equipped with the 4-cylinder 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine paired with a manual transmission. It presents the original styling of the era with pop-up headlights, non-assisted steering and absence of air conditioning, offering a direct, analog driving character.
BODY/PAINT:
The vehicle features a brown-period body finish with a black rubber rear spoiler. Visible minor signs of use and small scratches on the paint over the rear fender and lower area, maintaining exterior elements such as the pop-up headlights and rear logos. It wears Hackmesser-style alloy wheels with recently replaced tires.
INTERIOR:
The cabin is equipped with beige fabric upholstery on the seats and brown trim panels. The brown dashboard shows visible cracks on the upper surface. It has a sport QSP steering wheel trimmed in fabric/suede with a yellow indicator, brown leather manual shift knob, central console with replaced audio equipment and auxiliary cup holder. The original replaced parts, such as the factory steering wheel, are included.
MECHANICS:
Equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and manual transmission. In 2026, various mechanical maintenance tasks were performed, including replacement of the timing kit with water pump (April 2026), alternator with regulator, 1.4 kW starter motor, temperature sensor, steering inspection and adjustment, replacement of engine mounts, renewal of brake components, mounting of new tires and installation of a sports exhaust system. It is delivered with the original exhaust line.
DOCUMENTS:

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
