This handwoven Afghan kilim is characterized by its especially calm, natural color effect and a deliberately restrained design. The nearly monochrome surface is primarily structured by the fine weave and several subtle horizontal decorative lines.
Color-wise, light beige, sand, and natural tones predominate. The surface shows slight, irregular shading that gives the rug a lively, handmade texture. Several narrow horizontal lines in somewhat darker beige to taupe tones run across the rug, subtly loosening up the otherwise very simple design.
Thanks to the restrained color palette, the kilim appears particularly timeless and versatile. It blends excellently with modern, minimalist, and natural interiors and pairs especially well with wood, linen, stone, and other natural materials.
