Iconic Cassina 288 Sled sofa, designed by the Italian architect and designer Rodolfo Dordoni for Cassina in 2011.

An impressive three-seat sofa with a width of no less than 260 cm. The sofa is fully upholstered in leather and has a low, clean silhouette. The adjustable headrests can be raised individually, allowing the appearance and seating comfort to be adjusted to preference.

This piece is without armrests. Precisely for this reason the design remains open and minimalist, and the generous form of the sofa is fully showcased. The Sled is designed to stand freely in the room. Great attention has also been paid to the finish on the back.

The leather is in good used condition and shows normal signs of wear appropriate to its age. Taken as a whole, the sofa still gives a very well-cared impression.

Rodolfo Dordoni, 1954 to 2023, belonged to the well-known generation of Milanese designers and architects. He worked for leading brands such as Cassina, Minotti, Flos, Molteni, Kettal and Artemide. His work is known for calm lines, good proportions, and a combination of comfort and refined detailing.

The 288 Sled was included in Cassina's I Contemporanei collection in 2011. The original design was available in two- and three-seat configurations. Characteristic are the low horizontal form, the adjustable headrests, and the careful shaping of both the front and back sides.

A distinctive Italian design sofa that works exceptionally well in a spacious interior and pairs beautifully with design from, among others, B&B Italia, Fritz Hansen, Eames and Poul Kjærholm.
