A special and stylish ensemble of four vintage brass pans, finished in a warm gold color and paired with dark handles. The set consists of three pans each with seven round, bowl-shaped recesses and one smooth version.

The three segmented pans belong to a type used in various European culinary traditions for small portions and round preparations. Similar models are referred to as æbleskiver pan, poffertjes pan, egg poacher, or escargot pan, depending on country and use.

In France, similar pans were traditionally used for the preparation and presentation of escargots. Each round recess provided space for a single portion, often with herb butter. The individual compartments allowed several escargots to be heated simultaneously and served in an attractive way. Comparable variants were also used for eggs and other small preparations.

In Scandinavia, and especially in Denmark, a related model is known as æbleskiver pan, used for small round dough preparations. It is this broad European usage history that makes this type of pan interesting: functional kitchenware that today also has a strong decorative appeal.
