Description from the seller

IN RISALTO:
• Rare OM Leoncino bus with Cansa bodywork configured for 22 seats
• Originally registered in 1956 with administrative history reconstructed through three historic plates
• Mechanically partially restored: engine restarted and braking system completely overhauled
• Accompanied by workshop manual, user and maintenance manual and a copy of the latest registration certificate

STORIA/PANORAMICA:
The OM Leoncino, introduced by the Brescia-based factory Officine Meccaniche at the end of the 1940s, represents a milestone in light and medium transport in post-war Italy. In the specific bus variant fitted by the renowned Carrozzeria Cansa of Novara, this vehicle combines the robustness of the OM chassis with the quality of autobus construction of the era. This rare 22-seat specimen was first registered on 16 February 1956 in Florence, then transferred in 1961 to Pescara and finally in 1964 to Reggio Calabria. Out of service since 1992 (the year of cessation of circulation) and kept on private land since then, it represents an ideal restoration project for collectors or transport museums.

CARROZZERIA/VERNICIATURA:
The bodywork requires a total restoration. The vehicle is sold as-is, to be subjected to complete sheet metal and painting work. The front headlights are missing, while the original rear lights are stored inside the vehicle. Dimensions: length 6.00 m, width 2.41 m, height 2.90 m, maximum track 1.82 m, weight 39 quintals.

INTERNI:
Missing or insufficient information in the text or in the seller's photos.

MECCANICA:
The mechanical part has undergone initial functional restoration: the engine has been restarted after long inactivity and runs; the braking system has been completely overhauled with machined drums, enlarged brake shoes, revised brake cylinders and a new brake pump. New hub bearings and seals have also been installed.

DOCUMENTI:
The accompanying documentation includes a copy of the latest registration certificate, the chronological extracts of the three historic plates (Florence, Pescara, Reggio Calabria), the original user and maintenance booklet and the workshop manual. Following a compliant restoration, the vehicle may access the procedures for obtaining the Certificate of Historical and Collectible Relevance (CRS) for re-registration.

The vehicle is located in Reggio Calabria city. At the buyer's request, the seller can provide assistance with the CRS process and organize nationwide or international transport upon conclusion of commercial agreements. To schedule an appointment or for more information, please contact Catawiki. Pick-up and transport are at the buyer's expense. The costs of ownership transfer or deregistration procedures for export and transport are at the buyer's expense unless otherwise specified.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
