Description from the seller
Set of 11 wine glasses with height 11.5 cm and diameter 7.4 cm, and a bottle with stopper height 26.5 cm and diameter 10.5 cm. Made in refined transparent mouth-blown glass from Venetian glassmaking, each glass offers an enchanting hand-satin etched design, recalling the sophisticated styles of the 18th century. The etched motifs, with interlacing, leaves, volutes, and noble figures, confer a timeless charm that will capture attention on every occasion. Perfect for enhancing your evenings and ensuring impeccable service, these glasses are an elegant complement to your collection. Their classic beauty makes them ideal for any event, from formal dinners to the most intimate moments. The goblets belong to the glassware: S.I.V.A. (Società Industrie Vetrarie Artistiche) M. Indovino Venezia are objects of antiquarian and collectible Italian glassware, dating roughly to the first decade of the 20th century. Decorated with acid etching, wheel engravings, or details and finishes themed accordingly. The glasses have a slightly flared shape (inverted cone trunk) resting on a thick, robust base with a ring. The decoration is in Baroque style with the engraving of a lady with a cavalier. Vetreria SIVA, founded and based in Venice during the 20th century (producing especially active and appreciated in the first half of the century, around the 1910s-1930s), Mario Indovino’s company specialized in creating artistic glass and very high-quality place settings. SIVA was famous for its prowess in acid engraving and hand finishes. This technique allowed achieving that characteristic cameo-like, velvety, and slightly blurred effect, perfect for plant figures, foliate motifs, and dynamic subjects (such as the juggler/dancer on the balloon goblet). The pieces bore the original paper label: an oval or rectangular label with the inscription SIVAM INDOVINO VENEZIA. Highly sought after in the antique and collectible market of fine artistic glass.
