11-piece French crystal table service in transparent mouth-blown crystal by Cristalleria francese, including ten wine glasses (h 14 cm, d 7 cm) and a decanter with stopper (h 32 cm, d 12.5 cm), dating to 1900–1910, in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains, featuring acid-etched garlands, leaves and ribbons in an Empire/neoclassical style and a faceted diamond stopper.
Description from the seller
Lightweight hand-blown, mouth-incised clear crystal table service consisting of 10 wine glasses, height 14 cm x diameter 7 cm, and a bottle with stopper, height 32 cm x diameter 12.5 cm. In the neck of the decanter it is numbered, and also on the stopper. Bottle with long neck and slightly chipped (see photo) faceted stopper, a vintage piece belonging to brands finer than the great European crystal manufactories of the Belle Époque (around 1880–1915). Attributable to French manufactories such as Baccarat or Saint Louis. It features an acid-engraved decoration with garlands, leaves and ribbons, festoons, and dangling drops, typical of the Empire or Neoclassical style with a delicate botanical motif. The stopper is fully faceted in a “diamond” (geometric/teardrop facets), typical of fine production from the late 19th or early 20th century. It is not possible to determine the exact maker with certainty from the image alone, as many historic crystal and blown glass manufactories did not affix a visible mark at the center of the object until 1936; earlier pieces often carried only a paper label. Over time, through washing and the passage of decades (these pieces date back to over a century ago, roughly 1880–1915), the label inevitably detached without leaving a trace. Val Saint Lambert (Belgium) or Saint-Louis (France): Both manufactories produced crystal with this identical Louis XVI acid motif from the late 19th to early 20th century. The cup presents a classic tulip/coup shape. The stem is slender, smooth and straight, joined to the base of the cup by a small ring/knot in solid crystal. Circular flat base without decorations to balance the refined elegance of the upper part.
