These civic bronzes link three communities of Troas in the late Classical age. Skepsis and Kebren occupied defensible sites commanding routes between the interior and coast, while lesser-known Birytis shared the region’s local monetary culture. Pegasos, Kabeiros, Apollo, the ram and palm expressed distinct cults and civic identities as the cities negotiated autonomy under changing imperial control.
