AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Bronze ring with solid oval bezel – 1st–4th century AD
A robust bronze ring with broad shoulders merging into an oval bezel with a slightly convex face. No clearly legible decoration is visible on the head, whose restrained appearance is enhanced by its brown to almost black patina. The hoop gradually narrows towards the base. Surface irregularities, small deposits and abrasion along the edges are visible. The head and shoulders read as a single substantial form, with no sharply projecting ornamental border. In profile, the upper mass rises gently above the finger opening, while the back of the hoop is comparatively slender. The subdued face places emphasis on the outline of the ring itself. Uneven patches across the metal interrupt its otherwise simple appearance, and the dark surface should not be taken to imply that any original engraving is still readable.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: 2 x 2 cm
Weight: 6.99 gr
Provenance: Acquired in Germany from an auction house, previously from a personal collection.
We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years.
A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
This item has been legally acquired in accordance with European law.
