AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Bronze ring with oval bezel and broad shoulders – 1st–4th century AD
A solid-looking bronze ring with broad shoulders supporting an oval bezel with a dark face. The head is wider than the hoop but retains a relatively low profile. No legible inscription or image can be recognised on its upper surface. The metal exhibits brown patina, paler areas and small surface irregularities. The hoop becomes narrower towards the back. The breadth of the front contrasts with the narrower lower hoop, giving the ring a substantial upper section without a markedly projecting mount. The shoulders form smooth transitions towards the face, maintaining a restrained outline in profile. Light and dark patches interrupt the upper surface and the sides. These are treated as features of its present condition, while the face is described as unreadable rather than assigned an emblem that the photographs do not securely show.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: 2.5 x 2.1 cm
Weight: 8.6 gr
Provenance: Aduired in Germany from an auction House, previously from a personal collection.
We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years.
A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
This item has been legally acquired in accordance with European law.
