Description from the seller
Jaguar D-Type Longnose #19 12h Sebring 1955
The winning aerodynamic Jaguar D-Type #19 was in the hands of drivers Mike Hawthorn and Phil Walters on March 13, 1955 in the 12 Hours of Sebring.
The best race car ever? The 1955 Jaguar D-Type LN from Briggs S. Cunningham Team.
They played an essential role in Jaguar's successful string of races in the 1950s.
This car was specially designed by Malcolm Sayer to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The D-Type LNs won Le Mans in 1955, 1956, and 1957. Afterwards Jaguar withdrew temporarily.
The design made use of aviation technology that was revolutionary at the time. The "tub", i.e. the cockpit section, was a monocoque construction, largely composed of sheets of aluminum alloy.
Driver Norman Dewis worked as chief test and development engineer from 1952 to 1986.
He drove truly interesting and remarkable cars during that time, but nothing compares to the 1955 long-nose Jaguar D-Type. I drove full throttle on the Mulsanne Straight in Le Mans — 309 km/h — and overtook Ralf Kling in the Mercedes. What a fantastic feeling.

If you see the photos you will understand the excitement about this legendary Jaguar D-Type.
