Masque Deangle - Dan Bassa - Côte d'Ivoire

A very beautiful example of a Dan Bassa mask. The oval, curved face at the eye area. Very fine sculptural quality. The domed forehead is, for its part, adorned with striated motifs of striking effect.
The wear on the prominent lines reveals the natural wood tone beneath the generally glossy, soot-black patina.
The small beard is still present.
