Description from the seller
Bronze ring with polychrome panel and rosette – 8th–13th century AD
A bronze ring with a broad rectangular head containing a blue and yellow panel surrounding a central rosette in relief. Parallel mouldings frame the ends and continue visually towards the shoulders, giving the piece a robust profile. The hoop is open at the bottom; photographs do not establish whether this is a break or an original feature. Abrasion and losses affect the coloured areas. Their appearance suggests enamel decoration, without material confirmation. The rectangular face contrasts with the circular opening of the hoop, giving the upper portion a strongly architectural appearance. The central flower-like relief is visually separated from the surrounding coloured areas by the raised metal outlines. Repeated transverse ridges frame the panel and reinforce the breadth of the head. The open lower section remains visible in the side and rear views, and the worn coloured surface is not presented as a complete, uninterrupted original finish.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: 2.4 2.2 cm
Weight: 18.71 gr
Provenance: Aduired in Germany from an auction House, previously from a personal collection.
We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years.
A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
