Description from the seller

Bronze ring with angular motif and hatched border – 10th–15th century AD
A bronze ring with an oval or slightly polygonal bezel. An angular central motif lies within a bounded field and a border of short strokes. Decorative lines on the shoulders accompany the widening towards the head. Brown and greenish patina combines with pale deposits in the engravings, and the edges exhibit wear and abrasion. The central design cannot be read securely as a letter, emblem or religious symbol. The central device is visually distinct from the short strokes around the perimeter, producing a layered composition within the compact bezel. The surrounding edge follows the head's outline and separates the decorated field from the shoulders. Some incisions are clearer where deposits produce a pale contrast against the darker face. The hoop remains comparatively simple and narrows away from the head. Wear has softened portions of the pattern, and its surviving arrangement is described without reconstructing missing letters or an original owner's identity.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: 2.1 x 2.1 cm
