Description from the seller
Bronze ring with oval bezel and intersecting lines – 10th–15th century AD
A bronze ring with an elongated oval bezel decorated by a composition of intersecting straight and diagonal lines. Oblique incisions on the shoulders extend the geometric treatment of the front. The head has a low, integrated profile, while the hoop narrows below. Pale grooves stand out against the greyish-brown surface, with worn edges and small metal irregularities. The design is not identified as a legible inscription. The engraved field extends along the long axis of the oval, giving the face a directional emphasis. Its intersecting strokes vary in angle and length rather than forming a clearly legible sequence of letters. The shoulder incisions create a visual link between the decorated face and the hoop below. The worn edges and changes in surface colour remain evident in the different views. The description records those surviving lines without converting an abstract geometric arrangement into a specific named emblem.
