Description from the seller
This large vase was made by Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg in The Hague. It is model 430, a tall vase with a rounded belly and a long neck, with two tall, rectangular handles on each side. This vase is 32 cm high and 22.5 cm wide at the point where the belly transitions to the handles. It was produced in 1903 and painted by Jan van der Vet. You see a beautiful floral decor with violets in a lovely color combination of brown, blue and green. Here and there you can observe yellow, purple, turquoise and pink accents. All in all, a beautiful color palette! On the bottom the vase is well marked with the logo of the Hague Rozenburg factory, the year mark for 1903 (star) and the signature of Jan van der Vet. You can also see the work order number: 734. The vase has previously sustained damage to the neck. This has been neatly and invisibly repaired by a professional restorer. On the reverse side of the vase the brown paint has a tiny scratch, revealing the white clay underneath (see photo).
