Description from the seller

This elegant terracotta vessel features a generously proportioned globular body, topped by a slightly flared cylindrical neck and two symmetrical side handles connecting the shoulder to the top of the neck. Its form is typical of types widely found in the ancient Near East, associated with the storage and transport of liquids or agricultural produce.

The surface displays a rich patina with iridescent hues and areas of wear. These chromatic variations, ranging from ochre, gold and earthy tones, lend visual depth and character to the piece.

Provenance: Acquired at auction house D. R., France, 2004/ Acquired at auction house, France, 2026
