Jasper agatized in Ocean Green, a decorative free‑form specimen from Madagascar (Morovato), weighing 4329 g with dimensions 240 × 140 × 90 mm, featuring olive‑green tones and translucent quartz and chalcedony areas with radial crystal‑like formations.
Description from the seller
Freeform, carved and polished from a single block of ocean jasper originating from Madagascar. The specimen displays a predominantly green structure, interwoven with areas of chalcedony and quartz in smoky gray, white and beige tones, with small ochre and orange concentrations. The most distinctive part consists of a large olive-green area, made up of numerous closely spaced radial formations. These structures, resembling small flowers or crystalline rosettes, unfold in different shades of green and become particularly evident thanks to the surface polishing. Among the formations are some small natural cavities, left open during the rock silicification process. On the opposite side, the green gradually yields to more translucent zones of quartz and chalcedony, with brown and reddish mineral inclusions. The varying texture of the materials creates an alternation between solid areas, crystalline portions and light internal transparencies. The elongated shape, with an asymmetrical profile and rounded apex, follows the original contour of the block. The flat base allows the specimen to be displayed vertically without the need for supports. Origin: Madagascar
Material: ocean jasper, chalcedony and quartz
Work: freeform carved and polished
Color: olive green, dark green, gray, beige and ochre
Features: radial structures, translucent zones and small natural cavities
