Seven Philips Digital DCC 90 tapes, manufactured in 1992, in new condition and not tested, with no extras, dimensions 100.4 mm wide by 9.6 mm high by 63.8 cm deep, and a maximum weight of 70 g.
Description from the seller
Philips DCC 90 cassette tapes are Digital Compact Cassettes with a total recording time of 90 minutes (45 minutes per side). This digital tape system was introduced by Philips in late 1992 as the technological successor to the traditional analog cassette.
Because production stopped in the mid-1990s, these sealed (New Old Stock) items have become rare collectibles.
Features & Technology
Sound quality: Thanks to the PASC compression (Precision Adaptive Sub Coding), DCC tapes offered sound quality that at the time was close to a CD.
Housing: A DCC 90 has a recognizable, sleek housing with a metal shutter on the top to protect the tape, similar to a floppy disk.
Text & Metadata: The tape contains an extra track for metadata, allowing DCC players to support text mode (such as album and track titles).
Compatibility: DCC recorders (such as the well-known Philips DCC 900) can play and write these digital tapes, but they are also backwards compatible to play your old analog cassettes.
The exact specifications of a DCC cassette are:
Width: 100.4 mm
Height: 63.8 mm
Thickness: 9.6 mm
Weight: Maximum 70 gram
Not tested original packaging.
