This is an original vintage zoological school map / wall map of Asia, published by the well-known German educational publishing house Georg Westermann Verlag from Braunschweig.
It is a pictorial map that illustrates the native fauna, wildlife, and natural vegetation of the Asian continent.
This type of map was widely used in education in the mid-20th century (primarily around the 1950s and 1960s).
They do not show political borders, but focus purely on the distribution of animal life.
The map is slightly loose at the ends where the rods are attached, but it does not stand out.
