The Bavarian BB II is an articulated steam locomotive of the Mallet type (axle arrangement B'B n4v) of the Royal Bavarian State Railways (K.Bay.Sts.B.).
Manufacturer: Maffei built in total 31 units between 1899 and 1908 (29 units from 1899–1903 and 2 heavier ones in 1908).

Top speed: 45 km/h

Later career: After 1925 taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DRG) as Construction Series 98.7 (numbers 98 701–98 731). Due to mediocre running characteristics most were withdrawn in the 1930s. Locomotive 98 727 has been preserved in the Darmstadt-Kranichstein Railway Museum.
