"By Pleksy-Gladz's mustaches!" this car surprisingly resembles a mix between the 1953 Chrysler Imperial and the 1954 Windsor (also from Chrysler). I’ve included a photo so you can observe Hergé's inspirations.
The lighter touch comes from the cult of the "moustache" that appears on (the drawn panel, 1st image) the statue, the bas-relief of the statue, the front of the car and the rear license plate holder! moustaches everywhere... even among the spy-interpreters ^^
