Description from the seller
Elegant vintage sugar shaker (or confectionery piece) in solid silver with a fineness of 800, beautifully crafted in the classic Imperial style.
This piece, with harmonious proportions, features a smooth, polished body resting on a circular stepped base. It is adorned with two refined scroll handles intricately worked with vegetal motifs and is sold complete with its original domed lid, topped by a pinecone or bud-shaped finial.
Historical details and hallmarks:
The base bears two clearly legible marks:
1. The official oval hallmark "800" certifying the silver fineness.
2. The lozenge-shaped historic identifying mark "15 LO", belonging to a registered silversmith (No. 15) operating in Lecco.
The geometric form of this specific hallmark (without the star introduced after the war) allows dating the manufacture of the piece strictly between 1935 and 1944, making it a very interesting collectible for lovers of vintage Italian silverware.
Dimensions and weight:
- Total weight: 173 grams
- Height: 9.5 cm
- Width (handle to handle): 13 cm
Condition:
The item is in excellent vintage condition, structurally solid and free of significant dents or restorations.
