AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Rare and fascinating folding triptych mirror (typical vanity or travel/ dressing-table piece), with main wooden frame and opening front panels edged with metal/brass frames.

Object dimensions: 33 x 27 cm
Chromolithographs and mirrors dimensions: 26 x 20 cm

The peculiarity of this piece lies in the two outer/front panels (or back/doors depending on how you close/open), embellished with two antique chromolithographs:
1. A female figure with parasol and a basket of flowers in a Romantic/rustic style.
2. A female figure in a kimono with a parasol and a Japanese fan, in the full fashion of Japonisme (Japonisme), very popular around the turn of the centuries.

Inside there are three orientable mirrors (the central one mounted on the wooden frame and the two side ones hinged). On the top there is the original metal chain for wall mounting.

Era / Dating:
Circa 1890 - 1910 (End of the 19th – Beginning of the 20th Century, Art Nouveau / Belle Époque).

Condition:
Authentic antique piece. It shows evident and charming signs of time that attest to its originality:
The mirrors show patina, oxidation spots (silver nitrate bloom) and vintage wear.
The chromolithographs show humidity halos, aging traces and foxing on the paper.
The wooden frame and the brass/metal parts retain their original patina without invasive restorations.
