Statue, Escultura religiosa barroca en madera policromada y dorada - 37 cm - Wood

A striking polychromed and estofado wood carving representing a half-length male figure, dressed in a gilded inner tunic and a wide outer mantle in maroon tones with a hood. The image shows a bearded man with a serene face, with arms extended forward in an attitude of welcome or to hold attributes now lost (such as a book, cross, or staff).

The piece rests on a square wooden pedestal or base with a marbleized finish in greenish and ochre tones, a decorative device very characteristic of sculpture.
