Description from the seller

A stunning Amethyst sphere from Brazil. Amethyst is a mineral that belongs to the macro-crystalline quartz family with a characteristic violet color that can vary from crystal to crystal depending on quality and origin.
In this marvelous sphere we can notice the size and perfection of the crystals left intact by master artisans as well as the intense violet color inside the geode, which shows the very high quality of the mineral.
A Greek legend tells of the formation of the amethyst crystal due to the anger of the god Bacchus, who hurled a fierce beast at a beautiful maiden named Amethyst, namely; the maiden asked the goddess Diana for help, who saw no other way to save her than to petrify her. Bacchus then decided to pour his best wine over the petrified girl, who eagerly absorbed this divine nectar until she took on the coloration we know today.
Handcrafted wrought-iron stand

pedestal height: 136 mm

Seller's Story

The Mineral Art Gallery offers minerals, fossils, shells and natural elements. Born in Italy in 2017, today she collaborates with international galleries and collectors, she is a direct importer of large minerals and naturalistic collectible elements; deals with the processing to insert them inside the living space. A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past". All lots are shipped via DHL Express and Fercam couriers, with insured parcel and tracking.
